Something a bit different today.  It was leg day, squats and SLDL’s to be specific, but instead of going for high weights and relatively low reps I did the opposite, relatively low weights but high reps.  Squats: 8 x 135, 4 x 12 x 225.  I don’t think I ever did 12 reps of squats before, let alone four sets of them.  48 total reps at 225 is a lot, no matter how you slice and dice it.  I then ran one mile on the treadmill at 5.6 mph, followed by 20 minutes on the stationary cycle at 18.8 mph.  Then it was time for SLDL’s, continuing with the same theme: 3 x 12 x 185. Next week I’ll probably get back to higher weights and fewer reps, but today was the sort of change that’s essential to avoid getting stale.
