Accepting the zero

While I knew this was likely to be a zero-sales week, I wasn’t about to give up without a struggle.  At around 10 I headed out to the Two Non-Pseudonymed Towns to see if I could get something sold prior to the 3 pm deadline.  There were a few remaining lead cards for businesses and I was hoping that maybe I could convince a customer to upgrade his or her coverage.  Even a small sale would be better than nothing.  As things turned out, “nothing” is what I got.  Continuing with what seems to be a theme with this town, I wasn’t able to get in contact with anyone.  There was one business which I had reason to believe would be especially promising, but a sign on the door said that the owner would be out all day on a delivery.  Today, of all days.  I metaphorically threw in the towel in the mid-afternoon and headed home.  Next week should be better, I already have some things lined up, and I’ve also decided that despite the longer drive I’ll concentrate on Chipmunk Junction for the foreseeable future.  I just seem to have had better luck in that town.
