Saturday, March 12/Sunday, March 13

Saturday was not one of my better days.  My shoulder being much better, I had plans to go back to the gym and finally resume doing upper-body work.  Unfortunately, I felt definitely under the weather for much of the day and completely lacked any enthusiasm for gym-going.  During the mid-afternoon I spent quite some time making a barrage of telephone calls to residential customers, hoping to set up some sales calls for the upcoming week.  Saturday afternoons are usually a pretty good time for reaching people.  Not today, it was one voice mail after another.  In something like 45 to 50 calls I only got one actual live person on the phone, and while she had some questions about her coverage she wasn’t in any position to add anything new.

Sunday finally marked the return of upper-body work.  To avoid aggravating my shoulder I kept things light.  Bench press: 6 x 135, 2 x 6 x 185, 2 x 2 x 225, 2 x 6 x 185, 6 x 135.  For back work, I returned to an old favorite and did one-arm dumbbell rows, 4 x 8 x 100/100.

  1. QUESTION: What does the term “100/100” mean on the dumbbell rows??

  2. It means I used a 100-lb. dumbbell for each arm, one arm at a time.
