Monday, April 23 – Tuesday, April 24

It shrank.  Yeah, that’s what happened.

I actually was looking forward to work on Monday after last week’s managerial pep talk.  Getting there was a breeze, with smoothly flowing traffic on the Sunrise Highway, even though the cold rainy weather seemed more appropriate to early March than the second half of April.  Not much to say about the workday itself, other than that it seemed to go more quickly than usual.  Getting home was easy too.

Tuesday morning I went to wear a shirt that I haven’t worn in a while, and found to my great dismay that it was too tight to wear.  It used to fit just fine, and as much as I’d like to think that it shrank I know that’s not the case.  Ugh.  There was some moderate traffic on the drive into work, this time close to the Southern State Parkway exit, and the workday itself went a bit more slowly than Monday.  I had to go into an eastern Nassau County location later in the day, and while the east-west difference compared to the normal workplace was only a few miles, the fact that I had to return home on the Expressway closer to the main part of rush hour made for a very long trip.  About 45 minutes for not much over 25 miles, in fact.  I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with that nonsense every day.

Gym: what with the morning’s rude surprise, I decided to concentrate on aerobic exercise for a while, not so much on weights.  As it was necessary to start out slowly, I ellipted for 25 minutes at a midrange pace and resistance.  My plan is to stick with the elliptical for a while, and then as I get more accustomed to that sort of exercise I’ll start running on the treadmill.
