I’d like to say that I did all sorts of scintillating, exciting stuff this weekend, but that would be stretching the truth well beyond its breaking point. In reality, it was about as lazy a weekend as you could get. I did manage to go to the gym both days, each time spending 30 minutes on the stationary cycle. Next week I’ve decided that it will be time to return to doing weights. What else did I do? Well, I finished reading Decoding the Heavens, and am truly impressed with such a huge achievement on the part of the Greeks of 2,000 years ago. Not only was the Antikytheria Mechanism a sophisticated, centuries -ahead-of-its-time instrument, but the amount of astronomical knowledge that its makers must have possessed was staggering. Definitely one of the more interesting books I’ve read in recent months.
