Half a weekend is better than none. After having worked Friday, it would have been most unpleasant had I worked Saturday at the Major Home Improvement Retailer, but I wasn’t scheduled. As it was the sort of situation in which having a day off was more important than the money I would have made from working, it was a happy outcome. I did some errands during the day but basically didn’t do too much. Continuing with the theme from Thursday, I used the high-tech elliptical at the gym for 40 minutes. With higher resistance levels and a faster pace I “climbed” 4,000 feet on a virtual mountain. It was tough, but I made it through just fine. Later in the evening we went to an Indian restaurant for dinner, which was excellent. I had the tandoori chicken, taking some of it home for the next day’s lunch.
Sunday was a 3:30 to midnight shift at the MHIR. It was jammed during the first few hours and I was scurrying around helping customers. Later on, I packed out deliveries in the inside garden area, mostly in the cleaning supplies aisle. It wasn’t that bad, less exhausting than usual, though I was happy when midnight rolled around and I could leave.
