Friday, November 20 – Sunday, November 22

Friday was a memorable day. It was our much-anticipated trip into Manhattan for dinner at Keen’s Chop House on 36th Street, which is basically my favorite restaurant anywhere. And my favorite food anywhere is what I ordered, the mutton chop. It looks like something Fred Flintstone would devour and tastes just out of this world. We were not disappointed and even riding on the LIRR wasn’t too bad.

Saturday and Sunday were both 8-hour shifts at the Major Home Improvement Retailer. Although I could have gone to the gym after work on Saturday I chose not to, as what with the upcoming week off from my main job I’d have many opportunities to go. And as shall be seen, that wasn’t the way things turned out at all. But perhaps I’m getting ahead of myself here.

Saturday’s shift wasn’t bad, moderately busy but always manageable, and it went by quickly enough. Sunday, well that was another matter entirely. While the workload was about the same as on Saturday I was utterly exhausted by the second half of the shift, to function at all. Something was going on, I just didn’t know what.
