Friday, July 15 – Sunday, July 17

Yes, the annual Summer Slowdown at the Major Home Improvement Retailer is definitely in full force and effect. After a nice day off on Friday, which included a trip to the lavender fields on the North Fork (a bit past peak but still nice), I trudged off to the MHIR for endless workday on Saturday and Sunday … just joking, it was only a four-hour shift each day and it felt like nothing. What an absolute blessed relief. There’s a balancing point at which the burden of working long hours outweighs the extra money earned from working such hours, and during the peak season I had gone far, far past that point. What a welcome change.

I actually made it to the gym on both Friday and Sunday. Nothing too much, I just ellipted for a while and did some light machine work. If all goes well I should be back to a better and more conscientious schedule.
